What is a cranial prosthesis?

A cranial prosthesis is the medical term for a wig designed specifically for individuals experiencing hair loss due to a medical condition. It's a custom or semi-custom wig that meets healthcare standards—and can be eligible for insurance reimbursement.

What if my doctor hasn’t mentioned a cranial prosthesis?

No worries! We’ll walk you through what you need. Most insurance plans require a letter of medical necessity from your doctor, which simply states that your hair loss is related to a medical diagnosis. We can help guide you on what to request.
